For Parents

You know your child. We help you know their options.

Every year, thousands of parents make the same discovery: choosing a stream, a course, a country or a career for a teenager has changed dramatically since we were their age. We're here to help you catch up — with your child, not in spite of them.

Where we can help

Four moments where parents most often ask us to step in.

Class 8–10

The stream question

Science, commerce or humanities? Get evidence-based guidance for your child, not gut instinct from relatives.

Class 11–12

The college decision

India or abroad? Which universities, which courses, which scholarships? A full-picture conversation, not a sales one.

The confidence gap

You've noticed your child is holding back, not speaking up, avoiding challenges. Life skills matter as much as marks.

Parent Sessions

Because your questions matter too.

Every counselling package includes a parent session. Not to lecture — but because we've learned that when parents understand the "why" behind their child's plan, the plan actually happens.

We'll walk you through the assessment results, the recommended pathways, the risks, the alternatives, and the practical next steps. In plain language, without the jargon.

Common Questions

What parents ask us first.

How is this different from a psychometric test my child took at school?
A test result is a document. What we offer is a conversation — with your child, with you, and with the data. The assessment is one input; your child's own voice is another; the counsellor's expertise is a third. Together, they produce a plan, not just a report.
My child is only in Class 8. Isn't it too early to talk about careers?
Not for a career — for self-awareness. Class 8 is when students start asking "what am I good at?" and "what do I like?". Small nudges now shape the choices they'll make in Class 10. We call this stage exposure, not commitment.
What's the difference between Jo Pathways and Compass Career Labs?
Jo Pathways is our one-on-one counselling practice — you come to us. Compass Career Labs is our school-facing program — we come to your child's school and deliver structured sessions to their whole cohort. Both are led by the same team.
Do you help with study abroad even if we're not ready to commit yet?
Yes. JSAS offers exploratory conversations well before you decide anything. Understanding the true cost, timeline and options is part of what makes any long-term decision — including "no" — a good one.
Can we start with just one session?
Absolutely. Every family starts with a 30-minute discovery call. If we're a fit, we'll suggest the right next step. If we're not, we'll tell you honestly and point you elsewhere.
How do you protect my child's assessment data?
Assessments are conducted on partner platforms (like EduMilestones) with their own data policies. Reports are shared only with the family and the counsellor working with your child. Nothing is shared with a school unless you explicitly request it.

Start with a conversation.

Thirty minutes, no obligation. We'll listen first, then tell you honestly what we think would help.
